About Volunteering

South Plainfield Public Library is looking for people who are willing to donate 2-4 hours a month on a regular basis to deliver materials to homebound patrons in South Plainfield.

What is the Homebound Delivery service?

The Homebound Delivery service brings library materials to any South Plainfield resident who is unable to come to the library because of physical disability or extended illness.

What does a volunteer do?

Each volunteer will serve as a link between the Library and a homebound patron. You'll help select materials for that patron and deliver them on a pre-arranged, mutually agreeable schedule.

More Information

Volunteers must attend a 1-hour training session at the Library. You will then be paired with a homebound patron and will select items based on the patron's preference profile and a telephone conversation. Once the items are checked out, you simply bag them and deliver them.

Requirements

You must be willing and able to drive your own car to deliver library materials as needed.

How do I sign up?
